I am offering music instruction at the lovely studio in Sai Kung.
I teach music fundamentals, improvisation, double bass and bass guitar. Instruction in recording is also available.
I believe in a relaxed approach. Discipline is important in music, of course, but with the increasing pressure of school life, it is not always realistic to expect hours of daily practice. I try to assess what is reasonable for practice time, and work with the student to get the best out the time that they have. I feel that if the student has a positive experience here, I feel that they may develop a love for music that will enrich their lives.
I am happy to work with students of all ages, from kids of 10 to adults. I like to find programs that are appropriate for your level of interest. Perhaps you would like a continuing program of instruction, or maybe you just need a few lessons to inspire you to get going on your path. We will discuss your goals and expectations at the outset.
I have a great deal of teaching experience, both privately and at university level. I have prepared students for symphony work, and some of my Sai Kung students have gone on to study music at the university level. Please see here for more on my qualifications and experience.
